I have these acans that have just looked very sad for the last week while I have blastos next to them that are happy. Any ideas? Too much/not enough flow or light? I dose 8ml of Red Sea reef energy every night.
Phosphate .24
Ph 7.8
Dkh 12.6
Nitrate 3
Calcium 600

You dkh is 12.6 and ph is 7.8. What are you testing with? Dkh is way too high if that is correct. Also calcium is way too high. Looks like a new tank are you dosing since they seem like incredibly high numbers?

I’m not dosing anything. I use instant ocean reef crystals which I think is why it’s so high. I test with Red Sea test kits. Haven’t dosed any alakalinity or calcium.

Wow! I use instant ocean reef crystals and no where near those numbers. I have to dose to get my dkh above 8. That is a good kit so I am at a loss. What is your salinity?

I agree, I use reef crystals as well and am always below or right at 8 dkh with hanna checker and calcium is usually at 450ppm with salifert. Maybe try testing a new bag of salt or different test kit?

I was using red sea dkh test kit with a reading of 10 dkh and did a test with salifert, found out to be 15+ dkh with all the bad luck that goes with it , good luck
