Sailfin Tang

Got a sailfin yesterday and its currently in aclimation box only other tang I have is a hippo that is a model citizen. Tsnk is 100gallon i know not big enough upgrading to a 72inch 100gallon in next 6 months. Im not worried about the hippo, ive heard sailfins can be aggressive. The sailfin is a good bit smaller than the hippo. Hes been in box for 18hrs now when should i release. The other fish are 2 clowns (pretty good size) leapord wrass, lime green wrass, valentni puffer, 2 fire gobys, 1 chromis he killed others, and 2 fat mollies in tank. Tank has absolutely no aggression issues at the moment.

I could be wrong, but I feel like a sailfin and a hippo in a 100g is overcrowding. That is two larger tangs in a not-so-large space.

Sail is 3.5 inches hippo is 4 like i said upgrading to 180gal soon.

Always upgrade first to the larger tank then start thinking about what is going to go in there. It seems that almost all the "larger tank in 6 months" and "planing to re-home to my buddies larger tank" never happens

This is a 8” Sailfin with 8” blue….they don’t pay much attention to each other.

I moved out of my 180g to a 7ft 330g because the tangs were looking cramped. TBH I wish i could have gone larger.

Hes been in aclimation for 3 days now and doesn't care about any other fish hippo couldn't care less about him either. I now have tank sectioned off with screen and still no aggression from anywhere. May release after lights out.

My sailfin and blue hippo get along just fine.

They never upgrade 99.9 percent of the time and the fish are stressed until they finally die
