IMMA AT A 1.031 FOR A CLOWN!!! HOW TO loWeR HeLp!!

plz thx,
stewy14
How did it get this high? How long has it been this high?

Take out some of the water, and slowly lower the salinity by adding RO/DI water.

Hey stewy,

You can either siphon or just take a few cups worth of water out and then top off with RODI water.

Make sure to do a little bit at a time and give it time to mix in with your display water so that you don’t change it all at once. Your animals have slowly become adjusted to the 1.031 level so you’ll want to bring it down slowly over the course of a few hours.

Also, going slow helps to not end up under 1.025 at the end of things.

What instrument are you testing your salinity with? Maybe take it to your lfs store and have them test to see if it's accurate.
