Lol. I’m feeling much more comfortable having this thing now. At least for my newly mixed water it’s easy to get water to the right temp and use it. I’ve got a graduated cylinder for tank water but it’s warmer. I know there are charts out there though to convert. But once I see what it should be I’ll be able to keep it consistent.

I just sit 500ml of freshly mixed salt water in a bowl of hot water, bring that to temp to check the salinity.

Here is a salinity correction calculator but I prefer to bring to the correct temp of 77 and check that way.

Thanks for that bookmark. Very helpful. And I was just thinking I just need to wait for my tank water to cool down a degree to get to 77 before I check the reading. I’ll figure it out. Won’t be too hard. Il still just in shock it has been so far off.
