Having owned a pet store and in the hobby 45 years, I think Ive tried most every brand. I currently and for 3 years have been using tropic Marin and Favorites have been Seachem salinity, Reef crystals and Aquaforest brands

I keep my alk 8 ish and calcium 400 + I don't test mag. IO purple has worked for me for 10 years including my SPS tank. It mixes dirty but I don't have a fancy mixing station and mix in a brute so i couldn't care less about that.

I think you’re right. I have the same experience with Fritz RPM but it was cost effective and the coral looked great. I’m now using ESV again as a comparison. Too soon to tell but just because something is less expensive doesn’t mean it won’t work

I have been using ESV the last few months after trying AquaForest Reef Salt. I have like 2 boxes left but I am going to sell it for super cheap to someone local. I didn't like it. It mixes fine but the tank just wasn't doing well and I felt like I was using Reef Crystals again with the way the tank looked. I have absolutely no evidence to back up what I saw but I knew I needed to switch.

Plenty use and like AF salt though

Sorry I don’t quite follow. Are you saying you prefer the ESV over AF? Not challenging, just curious. I’ve read many of your posts and enjoy your input.

When I started I used red sea coral pro salt on a softie tank and could never figure out why my parameters were elevated . Fritz became my favorite after kicking myself in the rear.

Thx. Interestingly I almost went with the AF salt, just to try, but an LFS that I highly regard, had ESV and thought I’d use it again. So far so good.
