Right now I'm planning on building a nearly identical setup. Was thinking about building the stand the same way but I wasn't sure if it would work out until I saw your pictures. Thank you for sharing. I am a little bit concerned about using the brute cans. Have you had problems with the UniSeals leaking?
Absolutely hate uniseals in larger sizes! When I did mine the pump I had required 1 1/2" plumbing. the uniseals always leaked. I tried everything to get them not to leak, even replaced them several times thinking maybe I just wasn't getting it right. I switched to shedule 80 bulkheads. The gasket is thick enough, and the brute is thin enough you can squeeze it enough so they will never leak. I switched about 2 years back, and have not had a leak since.

On smaller diameter pipe, an harder sided containers(unlike the brute which is rather flimsy) uniseals work great.

Might even be a pic of my setup earlier in this thread. There are several mixing station threads, not sure which ones I've posted in.

Thanks so much for your reply. I'm so glad to know the Brutes can use bulkheads! My Waterbox 180 came online last Sept, but I think I've had the most anxiety about building the mixing station lol. I'm using 1" schedule 80. I think. It's all been in boxes since I ordered it last October.
In the meantime, I have just been manually moving the RODI water to the salt container with the pump and some soft tubing. The salt reservoir is hooked up to a DOS for awc. I am looking forward to putting taps on each of the reservoirs so I can get either type of water on demand.
This thread and another like it have been really helpful for me to put the final pieces of the puzzle together. One was the stand, and the other was the uniseals.
Appreciate everyone's generous sharing, as always.

Mostly done with water station. nothing to special for the most part just copied what others have done.

added power for the Panworld pump GFCI with build in switch. added a wifi plug to be able to turn on or off from anywhere in the house if needed

decided to add a couple of catch pans incase of future leaks. the next slid shows the plumbing to allow any water to drain to the other side of wall

My RO/DI system is on the other side of the wall of the storage containers

We live in the country so we are on a well and the TDS starts at 550 plus. I wanted the BRS pro series. for the most part just one of the DI resins depletes. the other two last a long time

the drain from the other side comes thru the wall just below the union. so if there is a leak on the tank side it will flow thru pipework and down to floor where the floor drain is. I also added these two water catches under the RO and DI units to also make sure water has smooth flow down to floor

Great post!

I'm just in the early stages of designing my system and had a quick question.

How are you all cleaning your tanks that have small openings; like the small screw top? Obviously the Brute trash cans you just reach right in and can clean it if needed. But, I have noticed at some of my LFS their tanks appear to have some kind of build up in their tanks and I'm trying to figure out how to avoid that in my own system.

I recently cleaned mine for the first time after about 3 years of use. I used a garden hose to spray out most of the gunk. Then I filled with fresh water and let it sit with citric acid over night. Came out pretty good.

Did you ever get a change to make a video of your mixing station or do you have detailed diagrams. Moving to a new home and would like to incorporate your idea

I am think of running a line from my R/O mixing station in my garage, threw the attic inside the wall to my Aquarium to keep the 20 ATO tank full. It will have to run about 50 feet. I do have an Aquaec 8800 pressure booster pump. Will that be enough pressure for that distance? Has anyone here had experience with this?

I don’t have my tank yet, or any equipment for my setup yet, but I got my salt water mixing / storage solution done this week. Looks like it should do the job. The basement is unfinished so the photos aren’t great but it’s a BRS 4 stage, an RO buddie, two 32 gallon brute cans on a super customer hand made riser with drain valves for filling 5 gallon buckets. One will be for saltwater and one for RODI top off water. I’ll add a heater and a powerhead to the salt water can.

I have one tank for rodi that fills automatically once it hits a low level sensor. The other tank is to mix my saltwater in. Disregard the messy wires.
