Blueface Angelfish, Yellowface Angelfish / Pomacanthus Xanthometopon
image
SCIENTIFIC NAME - Pomacanthus Xanthometopon
COMMON NAME - Blueface Angelfish, (Yellowface Angelfish)
SIZE - 15" (38 cm )
MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 135 US Gal. (511 L)
FOODS AND FEEDING - Varied diet, Spirulina, marine algae, Mysid shrimp, frozen shrimp, high quality marine Angelfish preparations. Feed a min. of 3 times a day.
REEF COMPATIBILITY - Not Recommended for the reef tank, can nip at sessile invertebrates, stony and soft corals including clam mantles.
CAPTIVE CARE - Provide plenty of swimming room and suitable hiding places. Not known to be aggressive, may chase close relatives. Beware of specimens that appear to be dazed, not feeding, oblivious to their surroundings, show signs of wasting. Collection with cyanide has given this fish a poor rap on survivability in the past.
