Hello, I'm a freshwater scrub taking my first steps into the saltwater hobby. Being a college student and learning how to adult, I realized I can do things like research new interests and challenges. After many hours of reading, watching videos, reading books, planning, and budgeting to verify that this hobby not impossible for me to do, I am very excited for the ups and downs this journey has to offer! It has been a dream to observe and learn from marine life within my home since I was younger!

Here is my setup:

  • 3.5 Gallon cylinder betta tank
  • Pump from betta tank
    • Has an adjustable flow
    • Strong enough to circulate the whole tank
  • 50 watt Heater & Thermometer
  • 2 pounds of Lace Rock
  • 1 pound of live reef rubble
  • 1-2 inch sandbed
  • ABI Tuna Light
    • 12 watts
    • 38 PAR
  • Lid
    • Made out of a broken picture frame
    • Cut airline tubing so it could be placed around the sharp edges of the lid

After a fishless cycle I have added the following livestock:

  • Zeus - Zoanthid
  • Apollo - Acan
  • Thor - Hammer
  • Aaron, Erin, & A-aron - Sexy Shrimp
  • Kraken - Porcelain Crab
  • Gary - Nassarius Snail

I've had this set up for almost 2 weeks now and everything seems to be running smoothly. I am wowed by it everyday!
