Hi, Ive been cycling my brand new 29g tank for a few weeks now. I added Turbo start and ammonia. My ammonia spiked to 2.0-3.0 ppm and then my nitrites went through the roof. They have since gone all the at down to .25ppm and have stayed there for the last 3 days. What now? Do I add fish or wait?

A cycle is called a cycle when two things occur. . . . when ammonia rises then falls and holds a steady reading of Zero for at least 5 days and also nitrate rises and falls and holds at 20 or below- you are cycled.

Start adding fish slowly! Maybe 2 at first, depending on how big and type of fish. You don’t want a bacterial bloom. Then test your ammonia every couple days for about a week to see if it stays at 0 then you know there’s enough bacteria to handle the bio load. Then add a few more and do the same. Patience is the key.

I believe you should have zero nitrites as well
