No!!! Stay away. I got two fish from them, one was DOA and the other passed hours after being put into the observation tank. Reached out to them and they said no refunds or replacements no matter what. I was so ticked.Anyone buy fish from SWA.com Chicago facility not ORA? If so how was the experience?
Yeah I agree with this. They recently started to do fish and its not good!I don't know what facility they shipped from, but my very first order from Saltwater Aquarium was for a five pack of Ricordea florida shrooms, and I had been having a hard time finding the R. florida specifically, so I gave them a chance. These shrooms came in so small, so drab, and two had detached from their piece of rubble in transit, which makes me think they were shipped before they were ready. I was quite disappointed.
I had wrote off SA.com entirely, until just recently when they had something I wanted at a better price than everyone else (a hydrometer). I placed an order for some dry goods, and they arrived in great shape and very fast.
My take now is that SA.com is great for dry goods, but I didn't have a great experience ordering livestock from them, and I'm pretty sure that's what most people report. Perhaps their fish are different, I don't know, I'm just reporting my experience with them.
I'm going to say that I started a thread asking for a source of CUC critters (because ReefCleaners no longer ships via USPS Priority Mail), and a lot of replies told me to look at SA.com, so perhaps my mushroom experience was not the norm? And yes, as I'm typing it I realized that the phrase "mushroom experience" may not have been the best choice of words, but you guys know what I mean lol!I order a lot of dry goods from them and always quick shipping with no issues.
I ordered a clean up crew from them and was impressed with the size of everything and trochus snails were about $2.50 each which is pretty cheap.
I’ve also ordered two holy grail torches from them and both were as expected.
Never ordered fish from them though.
Haha, I’m hoping it was a one off. I generally like them, but they are newer to the live animals shipping game.I'm going to say that I started a thread asking for a source of CUC critters (because ReefCleaners no longer ships via USPS Priority Mail), and a lot of replies told me to look at SA.com, so perhaps my mushroom experience was not the norm?
