Over time some of my sand has coagulated and clumped and I am wondering if I should remove those clumps? I’m thinking it was due to too much calcium dosing early on. Also, I have accumulated quite a few shells from decaeased clean up crew over the last 3 years and wondering if I should remove them as well or leave them?

One thing we often don't do right in this hobby is replace clean up crew.... I'm probably due for an order myself... So those empty shells are valuable.

As for the sand, agreed, personal preference. If it was/is an eyesore I'd remove it.
