I have a fairly new tank (7 months). Recently noticed this brown film almost like a gas bubble that occasionally occurs on my sand bed. It’s typical first thing in the morning when the lights ramp up. Today I stopped the flow and fed the tank. It’s a very chalky opaque looking as if it suspends over the sand. Once I turn the flow back on it lifts and flows through the tank in sheets. What is this??

Hard to say, try taking a picture with all white light. I was almost gonna say diatoms or dinos based on the patches in front but the area you are pointing has me baffled. How deep is your sand bed? Any sand stirrers?
