SaraB's 268G Envision Build

The surges were vented just above the water line in the tank. A 1" pvc elbow was added and it was tapped with an elbow John Guest fitting with the 1/4" being screwed into that pvc elbow and a 5/8" tube added to release the air and water.

Here's a shot of the first surge vented:

Here's the 2nd surge inlet that was vented way back in the corner:

I had some fish additions in the display tank this weekend. I was able to visit the Divers Den in person on Saturday with a reef club and I came home with a few goodies!

I added an African exquisite wrasse, a female lineatus and a few more of the same anthias. They were added to the display at 1AM on Sunday and when the lights came on at noon on sunday, I had a lot of activity with the PBT picking on the wrasses. I decided to add some more distraction so I added 3 of my existing male wrasses ... the supermale lineatus, laboutei and pylei. The rhomboid who has been in the tank for a month wants nothing to do with the male lineatus so now he's chasing him all over the tank stressing him out Hopefully this stops soon!

Here's some super crappy photos, as usual that shows the added activity:

Here's a better shot of 7 of the anthias out swimming:

thanks.

Sara... awesome selection of wrasses... the Laboutei looks really nice... so as the Rhomboid... how big are your superMales? you got the Cebu Pylei's as well right? I was finally able to see one in person a few days ago... definitely a stunner... :)

Thanks Marvin, the Cirrhilabrus wrasses are my favorite! I wish I could get one of each! The only supermale in the tank is the lineatus and he finally stopped getting his tail whipped by the rhomboid today. I was getting worried as this had been going on for 4 days. He's the largest wrasse in there as well at about 5" long, the laboutei comes in 2nd and then the rhomboid is a close 3rd in size.

Yes, I have the male cubu pylei as well. I was supposed to pick up the female this past weekend but someone accidently sold her :(

Love the fish!! I am excited about stocking mine soon. :D

NICE!!! I saw an awesome SuperMale Lineatus today... if I had a tank to accommodate him, even for a few months, I would've.... makes me wanna upgrade just to have a Supermale Lineatus, Rhomboid, and HI Flame wrasse in a tank... ;) those Cebu Pylei's are becoming a favorite as well... just sweet!

Like I said, you can't just have one!

Here's a shot Gary took in 2007 of the lineatus. He's lost some of the vibrant colors, but I added a gal for him on Saturday, so hopefully he colors back up!

Thanks Rev! I bet you can't wait to get water in that tank ... speaking of your tank ... where are the new photos?

those Anthias look so cool all together Sara.

Thanks! This week is the first week that the initial 7 anthias are out swimming most of the time. The 3 new ones that were added last Saturday are still hiding. I see them peaking out, but they have not yet joined the existing school.

that fish is rediculous!!!!! I'm EXTREMELY jealous of your tank!

Thanks! I find it hard to find fish that match the coloration splash found on wrasses. I also picked up an african exquisite wrasse last weekend as I could not pass on the extreme coloration and the beatiful green. I'll have to clean my tank and have Gary over to capture more fish photos!
