Does yours have door locks? i dont think the early models came with them its always freaked me out especiallly in NJ. No Door Locks!

But if you steal that thing in NJ it wouldnt be hard to find. Its so loud.

The RT10 was the first generation of Vipers with the soft top and the GTS was 2nd Generation hard top coupe. Yes, it has door locks, but not a whole lot of other creature comforts! It's built pretty much as a stripped down racecar. Lots of fun, but not a car to take on a long roadtrip!

Great plan and awesome engineering execution! Love the fish selection, you don't see those in every tank. The open design with the Anthias and all those wrasses will be awesome to watch. With the pairs and groups any breeding plans?

No problem, I'll do my best to explain! It's a way of adding additional random flow to a display tank or any tank for that matter. You can use a variety of "tanks" to build the surge tank. I used 20G tanks, but people use a variety of different sizes and even empty salt buckets. The design I used uses your standard toilet flapper. You fill the surge tank with water and as it rises, the ball rises at the top of the water level. You set the length of the chain for the level you want the tank to fill to. When the flapper releases, it allows water to escape down the flapper hole which is connected via PVC to a hole drilled in the surge tank. All that water rushes into the display tank and creates a "surge" of water into the tank. Hope that helps explain it and let me know if it doesn't!

Thanks Len. I love brightly colored fish and the wrasses sure fit that bill!

I have not heard of any success with captive breeding of either of these species, so not plans there. I just like to have pairs to keep them "happy".

I'll keep everyone updated of fish additions!

I'm feeding the surges off of my return pump ... it is split between filling the surges and returning water to the display. I have no idea how much gph I'm running.

I was hoping to get away from using powerheads in the display with the surges and closed loop. The tank was designed for 3 surges, but I was worried about too many microbubbles, so I removed the center one and used that hole in the tank for a return line. I have a pair of Tunze 6100's that I could add, but I wanted to get away from the look of having them in there. I might add a Seio Pario on the back wall if needed and position it behind the rock work if I need more random flow.

Here's the rest of the fish that are in the display tank right now. There's plenty more to be added, but I started with the more shy fish first and will add the others starting soon!

This is my hybrid Powderblue Tang. The fish came from Bali and is thought to be a (Acanthurus cf leucosternon x Acanthurus nigricans) hybrid with a very unique colored tail. I guess only time will tell to see what develops when it grows larger!

I also added a school of 8 anthias. They are L. waitei. I lost 1 already as he was a bit skinny, but I'm picking up 4 more on the 28th to round out a full school. They are suppose to be less aggressive, so hopefully the school lasts for years to come! Sorry for the poor photo ... they were swimming fast and the surge left lots of microbubbles too!

Thanks, all the fish that are in there now are pretty darn skittish. I'm not sure what they are going to do when I drop the 7" Naso in this weekend! It should be interesting!
