OK thanks. But I should I add possibly some sort of medication. For internal parasites.

Possibly but I’m not a medication expert so hopefully some one with more knowledge will chime in. You could probably google all the info you need on treating fish for internal parasites. Also your most likely gonna need to treat him in a separate tank

I agree with @Humblefish, it's likely the extreme difference in sg from store to home. Many times they don;t pull through, if he's hanging on this long he's got a chance. Back in the day lfs used to keep their tanks at a reef ready sg or at least within reasonable limits. Today they run super low sg and run a cocktail of meds to suppress(not cure) any diseases or parasites, so acclimation is much more difficult and qt definitely recommended. i hope he pulls through, beautiful fish.

I'm not saying you guys are wrong, buuuut I bought 2 other fish from the same LFS and they're doing fine. I realize tho not all fish are the same. So I don't know.

Some fish can handle specific gravity changes better than others. Even specimens from the same species.

Yeah I understand. I'm not ruling it out. I'm honestly leaning more towards a swim bladder issue tho. Only problem with that there's so many things that cause that. Trauma (he was kept with an undulated for 2 weeks in a small tank) bacterial infection, internal disease... Too much things to try and treat.

This is a very overlooked and often times misunderstood consequence. Over the years (not just myself) but with many friends, we determined how there were an exorbitant amountnof deaths occurring from a couple of the more popular stores in town. These fish always seemed healthy, no indicators of any disease or excessive stress, ate, and many times seemed completely healthy, then just died within a couple of days. Some would exhibit occasional erratic behavior, some not. Then we stumbled across it, the one thing they all had in common; these stores kept their sg at 1.018-1.020. When acclimating more than .0o2 there was a marked difference in deaths. We started having people adjust their qt to bag sg, then slowly raise up to their dt sg. After that all was normal; you would be surprised as this is likely the cause of many unknown? deaths. This method of running low sg and meds also present other problems, you better be ready to address disease and parasites when the fish gets back into a natural sg with no meds.
