I have very little experience with triggers. Does anyone have experience with Sargassum Triggers (Xanthichthys ringens) and smaller fish like dwarf angels or clowns? They would all be housed in a 300 gallon. All the little fish are already there and the trigger would be a late addition.

Sargasm triggers are planktavores and generally will leave other tankmates alone.
I wouldn't however suggest adding a large specimen to the tank. Get a small one and watch him grow. Better bet for a peaceful addition

I love the red tail trigger. I kept one in a 220g with smaller fish, dwarf angels, clowns, wrasses, gobies, had no issues. Kept it well fed. I have a blue jaw now, similar fish, and same deal - so far, no issues with smaller fish.

You may need to worry about ornamental shrimp, snails, and hermits though.
