@Lost in the Sauce ur gonna kill me :grinning-squinting-face: How colored up do you find the White Tail Tang?
You're in my thread, no need to tag me. I'll see it.

Not sure about your question. I know the WTBT red gets completely washed out by red Sea lamps so it usually looks more of a faded rust color in this tank.

I've had that fish in 3 tanks under different lights. The red sea lights are not kind to that specific color.

Yeah that's their standard coloration and what this guy looks like under reef breeders and AI lights
Unfortunately mine wasn’t colored up fully since that picture was taken after he was put in for the first time. Double unfortunately…..he didn’t even last all of 24 hours :worried-face::frowning-face:

In the night he must have gotten spooked and got stuck to the MP40 all night.

I go further in detail in my thread. Such a bummer. Really liked that fish.

Oh sounds like something must have been wrong with him a healthy tang can't get stuck to an MP40.

Agreed.

Healthy fish don't just float into the mp.

@Petcrazyson sorry you lost it. They are worker fish for sure. Most likely cause would be the fish either getting killed by another fish which you would notice, or it running into the glass and injuring itself, which you probably would not.

Velvet doesn't even take a fish from (apparent) pristine condition, to weak enough to get stuck to a powerhead in 24 hours. Any disease that kills that fast, doesn't stop at one fish.

It came down to acclamation issues. I blame myself for it not going well. The tang was acclimated with the blenny I have now, and the blenny is healthy. I just keep telling myself “this happens” :disappointed-face:

Did it come in at a low SG and you brought it up too fast?

No. The gravity was literally a point off of 1.024 to my 1.025. I really don’t have a solid conclusion. The PH was also good. Any ideas?

Unfortunately, it could be any number of things. Poor collection methods, temp fluctuation in transit, already a sick fish upon collection…
