SB Reef light WiFi FIX

After looking everywhere to find a fix or to get the old app working… I have now figured it out.

I currently have a SB Reef light 45 Ultra that I could not find the old app as the business has been sold/gone under? The fix is relatively easy and straight forward if you have some technical DIY skills. It’s a $30 part on Amazon attached below.

You will need to take apart the control box and locate the white and yellow box with the chip in it. This will need to come apart and it is easy to do so by unscrewing the screws and popping the covers apart. The board on the inside will either be soldered or clipped in ( depending on if you have the upgraded chip or not) once this is found you will clip these wires ( 8 in total, 4 black, 4 red). These are your main wires as they control the light.

All 4 reds will be twisted together and placed in the + terminal. Each one of the black wires will be placed in the R, G, B, and CW terminals. Once this is done locate the red and black wires on the board with the “12” on them. (Or find the box in the control that says constant voltage 12) this is your power to the new Bluetooth/wifi box and this will be placed in the other + and - terminal on the other side. There is also a wire bunch that goes to the green button that can be removed as they serve no purpose. Same with the antenna and wire!

Now you are done! Power up and mess with the settings in the app. Now this isn’t a perfect fix and you’re not going to get absolutely everything but it will help get the light up and going for use!

I like this!!! I dont have SB reef light but looking to do something similar to a set of noopsyche k7 v2 lights i have that i cant get a controller for anymore!

I may venture down this path
