I picked up this scoly from a local reefer for a good price but when I got it home and was dipping it, I noticed that the outer edges of the skeleton are exposed and seem to have been for some time as there are small spots of coralline and green film algae growing on it. The scoly also does not have that classic round donut shape. Will it regrow over the exposed edges and regain it’s proper shape?

Just feed it, and it has a good feed response. You can see better where it is still attached and how much of the skeleton it has possibly released from.

It’s a scoly and I have same situation with one of mine. I actually just was spending time on it a few min ago

With stability and feeding it will recover.

Mine had a section with skeleton exposed and it wouldn’t poof up there. Turns out I had an aiptasia in the sand touching it. And bristleworms made a home in a gap between the coral And the plug

If it’s been like that a while it’s probably already healed. If it persists then you should dip it.
