Scolys need help

So I got a bunch of Scolys from my buisness partner that were in bad shape 2 months ago.

All off the Scolys look like the have dead tube worm skeletons coming off them. Should I break theses off so the don' irritate the Scolys? All the scolys are recovering nicely.
