I see. That’s good to know. I have no plan to buy wild Clowns. Which other species in the trade are commonly caught using cyanide and which ones are generally safe?

Sucks they don’t CB the pure ones.
It really depends and I have no idea. But I commonly see ocellaris, maroons, skunks, clarkii that are wild caught. I tried keeping some of them years ago and my success rate was low after less than a week of getting them. Usually they’d get wobbly which is a sign of swim bladder disease, typical of cyanide poisoning.

Don’t give up on something on its way out. They can be saved. Unless they turn white and brown algae starts growing on it. :p :p

Hahahahaha. I knew that was coming. We need a spblam filter here. Just for you Frank.
And Simon too. But I love his pics ;Facepalm I added a GCG last a few weeks ago, inspired by Simon. And my wife sends me pics of it when I’m at work, worried why it perches in corners and crevices

That is what they do, they are coy and shy but once settled it should be in your face. :)

confession: I have a new favorite fish. I set up a trap to catch my hawkfish so I can get some peppermints in to take care of my aiptaisa. I have copperband I just added but my bristletooth won’t let it settle in even after trying an acclimation box.

So I spent the whole day watching the tank from lights on. Quite boring but the tank is busy enough to keep me busy and in tune with things. But my foxface really intrigued me. It kept getting bullied by my clown tang.. constantly. I felt sorry for it. It also was the only fish smart enough (or stupid enough) to go in the trap. But it freaked out and beat itself up in the box. Such a skittish fish but I love him even more after today.

Are you gonna introduce your Hawkfish again?
Yeah. After the peppermints do their job.

Congrats on the Copperband. Any luck getting it to eat?
It’s pecking a lot but not where there’s food. It seems like it’s ready to get to business, but it just needs to find the food in the rocks.
