Dumb question of the day: how do I know what % I need for my return pump to make sure it is 3 to 5 gph? I have a sicce sdc 3.0 on a Red Sea reefer 170. I do not know the height from the return to the overhead box and the diagram on the website is not making any sense to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

To know the exact return rate, you need to know the height of the return. Or at least a close approximation.

The only way to know for sure is to measure it.

You can make some estimates using headloss calculators and pump charts.
