Always wanted to try one, but too afraid to pull the trigger

I've read it can be risky but usually negative reports are louder and more plentiful than positive ones. I started my little tank with the sea Apple in mind as a center piece. I only have two fish, a high fin goby and a barnacle blenny and i don't think they are going to bother it. Most of what I've read about them nuking tank were when fish had pestered them or they get in a powerhead.
That said I still wouldn't put one in a tank with a bunch of fish.
