Sea urchin QT

So thinking of getting a sea urchin! But how do I qt it. Can you treat with meds or do I just have to let it sit fallow for 76 days in my frag tank?

Seaurchin is a invert and can't be a carries for to long on ich or other deceases that can hurt fish.
Just a 10 gallon tank with tank water from the DT and a piece of live rock from the tank or sump as it has something to munch on.
Keep it a couple day in there and your fine.
Same as QT snails and shrimp.

it actually isn't the same as qt for snails and shrimp which require 72/76 days of time in qt to avoid bringing something in as they can host tomonts. check out the info and studies referenced in the "how to quarantine thread" which covers invert/coral qt.

urchins offer no encystment area so you can just run some clean saltwater over them to wash off any potential free swimming theronts and good to go.

Thank you guys. I new it doesn't actually host ich or velvet but I know it can carry it. Actually finishing up a fallow period this week after bringing velvet into my DT on a coral. Just don't wanna do that again!
