I'm not a fan of phosguard due to the potential for dissolution of aluminum and the potential to irritate corals such as leather corals, but I really do not think it caused the fish issues. Lots and lots of people have used it over decades without such issues.

lol ya the key word being lings, not gills.... the phosguard did not kill the fish, it’s been around for like forever...
