Finally, I am getting closer to getting my seahorse tank back!! In June, I rehomed my seahorses. I was terrified that I would murder them in my move so I found them a home. Now, I have upgraded slightly to a 40 gallon tank. The tank is almost ready for seahorses. The tank is still cloudy from rearranging the rock. I will be sure to post pics up soon. I just can't wait to have my seahorses back!!! :)

Here is a not so lovely pic:

I'm not so sure when I will add them. I am waiting for them to come in stock. I am also still debating on whether I should do kuda or erectus. Decisions...decisions.

How are kudas different from erectus? I don't know much about the different species. I chose erectus because of them being the hardiest.

There is not much difference. Kudas can be trickier to get to eat, but I will be getting captive bred so that won't be an issue. Kudas also have trouble taking to the feeding dish.

In preparation for the seahorses, I have stocked my freezer with mysis. So really, the only thing I need is seahorses.

I haven't got my erectus to eat from their dish yet either. I need to work at teaching them more earnestly. They do follow my turkey baster so it probably won't be hard to do.
So kuda look like erectus more or less?

The kuda have smoother bodies and don't vary in color quite as much as the erectus. They also get bigger.

How many ponies do you have in mind? I guess 3 kudas in a 40g isn't unreasonable, even if they are a little bigger is it? I can't remember, is your tank a AIO or does it have a sump?

Awesome! Looking forward to seeing the ponies in their new home! 1smile1

I just pulled the trigger!! Seahorses have been ordered! :)

Such suspense! Which species did you decide on? How many?
I can't wait to set up my first seahorse tank!
