I went home this weekend and was able to spend some time outside training my mule and taking pics of the horses.
Here is the entire herd. Most of our horses are around 2 years old and still growing, hence the lankiness and thinness. They are regularly wormed and grained daily.

This is Jack, he was born with a club foot. Jack had surgery (his deep digital flexor tendon was cut) and now he's as good as new.

Rocky, affectionately called Rockstar. He's the herd boss and is a giant at only 28" tall.

This is Sunny, a two month old colt. This colt is built like a tank, he's the size of a 6 month old colt! The patch on his neck is where we were getting him used to the clippers.

And last but not least, Pride, my buddy :) This weekend was the first time he was tacked up and he did great. I'm so proud of him!!!

What breed is Pride? He looks like maybe a Dunn or maybe a mule? Did you shave his mane or is that part of the breed?

I should take some pictures of our horses.

Pride is a mule, dun is his color. Mules generally have their manes shaved to make them look better, the hair never lays flat and so it grows to about 4" long and then sticks straight out from his neck.

yeah more in line with the donkey. Our donkey's main sticks straight up but it's kind of cool because it is striped. I will try to remember to scan in a picture of the new donkey's. We have a BLM donkey out Arizona as well. He's cool, he's even got his tattoo.

We had a Dun horse. You don't see them very often around here anymore.
