Semi DIY Par Meter?

Wondering peoples thoughts on this idea... there are a few cheapish PAR meters floating about, this one in particular caught my eye. they can be had for about $80 if you hunt around a bit.
Amazon PAR meter It looks like it would be super easy to throw on a little bit more cord, and waterproof the puck. (See Amazon review photo below.)
Do you all think she is worth a shot for $80 and some silicone sealant?

I highly highly highly doubt that is a par meter. It is likely just a LUX meter. Hydro farm is a company that imports cheap marijuana grow gear from china.

I have purchased lux meters that look EXACTLY like that one.

The cheapest way to get a true DIY par meter is buy the sensor...


Then connect it to a $5 multimeter, read the millivolts and multiply by 5..boom par.
