I've heard good things about them. The thing I don't like is the added on cost every month or so for the replacement slides. Although it looks good for the price and has features that are great by the time you add it all up is it worth it? I don't think so

The Seneye is not a controller. It's a monitor. If it were me, I would save up and get a Neptune Apex Jr. It's $40 extra dollars but will actually get you a controller. You can later get add-on modules that will make it a full blown controller.

I have both - I use my Apex to control everything from pumps to cooling.
I use the Seneye only for the Par meter.

And it is the best PAR meter that isn't named LiCor! Not only that it is also a spectrometer and can calculate PUR. At that price, it is a steal!

I have an apex and a seneye as well. If I only had the budget to buy one item, i would buy beer first then get the apex. I typically just use the seneye as a QT monitor and photometer.

The Seneye is nice to check the temp and ph when away from the tank. It is not a controller, mine came with the tank I don't know that I would have purchased it otherwise.
