I don’t have any experience with that set up, sorry, but my guess would be you’re on the low side in terms of par with your kessil only at 30%.
Do you have any pics of the sps that are giving you issues? What are your other parameters? Are you using gfo or nopox?

Everything is spot on. 8.1 alk, 420 cal, 1380 mag, .02 po4, 5 no4. Lights are out now but will post some pics tomorrow. And no to gfo and nopox. Running triton method.

How many watts does the 30% produce? I have 2 hydra 52 HD’s 16” over my 50 gallon cube at 90 watts each, 180 total for 9 hours of peak photoperiod and 1.5 hour ramps. That produces 450 par about 6” below the surface. I had them up to 210 watts, 575-600 par for 6 hours of peak and all of my acros and other sps loved it. I lowered the par to stretch to 9 hours and I’ll slowly be easing the par back up to were it was. Sps can handle a lot of light when acclimated properly. I had many wither away and die from too little light and using gfo and nopox. Now I just blast them and grow chaeto. No skimmer, gfo, nopox, etc. I highly recommend a par meter though for peace of mind.
I’ve seen and read really good reviews on seneye. I hope this helps and good luck

Rent a par meter from BRS

You definitely have the lighting in order to light that tank, if it’s a standard 75G

Just intuitively, 30% seems low to me for “noon” light.

Which SPS are you losing?
Where are they in the tank?
What do they look like before they die?
Are they dying from the top or the bottom?
What is your flow like?

I have a seneye reef. I'm pretty happy with it. It's much less than an apogee or pmk. Mine was an open box from brs for $160. I hooked it up to an old windows tablet, so it basically functions as a handheld par meter. I don't use the other features, but I think it would come in handy if I'm out of town.

All are in the top 1/3 of tank, the last one i lost was an acro frag that went really pale then the next morning it had lost it's tissue on one side. like split perfectly down the center. The other one i lost was a monti frag that complety bleached out overnight. It too slowly faded out losing its color then next morning nothing. For flow i have 2 Mp-40's on reefcrest at 60% on the sides and on the back i have two koralia 850's. I also did an ICP test about a month ago and nothing to crazy came back

I agree with the previous suggestion of renting one. I am currently doing the same thing to try and figure out what is going on with my SPS.

I have pretty much the same setup as your lighting. T5 fixture with blue plus and coral plus with AP700 mounted in between but i have mine at 80-90% power value sitting about 10/11" above the water on a 110 tall tank. Growing the hell out of everything from softies to sps

Sounds like they’re starving from not enough light.

I started by buying the Neptune. If you are using LED’s the Neptune will not be accurate. You can get much quicker response if you switch to local mode over using the Apex interface.

I bought the latest Apogee from BRS and am much happier with that. And it is already corrected for LED readings.

If you really want a PMK - PM me and I will make you a deal on a used one if you like!

I own both meters. I have had them mounted side by side and ran comparison tests. As far as the PAR read outs go mine were very close and consistent. The data update rate of the Seneye is quicker so I would choose it as a handheld spot checker to get a map of your PAR levels. But to get accurate readings from the Seneye it does need to be pointed directly at the light source more so than the Neptune PMK.

I’ve heard there is a lag in the readings if your mapping out your tank? How long did it take to get a good map of your tank?

Almost instant if you use the Aquacontroller Display. If your just using Fusion then yea it can take a few for it to update.
