It's a photography contest. Do what you need to to make the pic stand out and look the best. I've seen many pics that would have won easily if the pic would have been edited with a simple crop/center but lost because they were afraid to make any edits to their pic.
As long as it is an authentic original, not a stock or stolen professional picture...right?

Well these pictures were taken with my phone ( I don't have a normal camera) but these little Pygmys are still adorable.
