Setting temps 2 controllers

I have 2 aqua logic controllers and will have a single 600w heater for each. Any recommendations on temps to set these to? Trying to get them to work as equally as possible. Have seen on some forums users will have one set to 78 and the other 77 but feel like the 78° is going to be on a lot more.

Does your tank require 1200w? Or only 600w?

Just set them both at the same temperature. I have 2 heater/ controllers and I rarely see them both on. The idea is to keep the the 2 controllers from fighting each other.

I've never thought about running two controllers but it could be a good warning system if the controllers have the ability to send high and low temp alerts. One fails stuck on and the other would send an alert. I like the idea and even my cheap inkbirds send alerts.

I am a "freak" when it comes to heaters.

I have two helios controllers, each controlling a 300w heater each. The failsafe is set a touch higher than the helios controllers, and is teh temp probe for my hydros controller.

I also run each heater for 12hrs a day to help reduce the on/off cycles.

Love the Helios systems. Run two in my 300 system. System is in the garage, summers they seem to be off most of the time. Winter different story.
