So I have no corals yet but will be adding. I have 2 clowns, 1 goby, 1 midas blenny and will be adding more fish. I have 2 32 hydra hds and wondering if I should get diffusers or shades? I want to get rid of the light spill. However im wondering if my lights are too powerful for my 75gall ext. Whenever they come on my clowns go from where they always stay at the top of tank to the middle or some shaded area. Does that mean the light is too strong? Which means I should do diffusers? If up to me all i care is getting rid of light spill and making my light work efficiently and properly once corals are in...

If you're only concerned about light spill then you want shades. Diffusers were designed (unless I'm wrong) to help blend individual different color LEDs to a more even (less disco) light in your tank. As far as the clowns are concerned, they will move around to suite themselves.

Whats your lighting schedule set up now?

Shades seem more likely... and I'd probably bring both lights inward 1-2" each.

But they look bright, I'd think you can just turn them down a bit.

Shades work well on my xr15's. I run diffusers too but more to keep water off the leds.
On my 16hds I ran shades but no diffusers.
Those lights are good just reduce intensity.
I just use a ramp up as the lights come on low and get to full intensity in 1 hour and fish dont get the shock of full on all at once.
2 16hds on my old 30 With shades.
Not much spill at all when shades are on.

Atm I havent even had them on but id like to. I was worried it was too much for my clowns. I want to start using them though and maybe introduce some zoas soon too. What would u recommend for schedule? I hate the app and its so confusing.

Fish o hex makes custom light shades definitely check him out. He made me a nice pair for my radions g6s. And always start on a lower intensity when it comes to lights. If you could rent a par meter i would. It really helped me. The par reading is usually never what you think it is.

Atm im running this for schedule.
Also I think ill just get this. Do you think itll do the job for reducing light spill? I want something minimalistic but stops the light spill.
