Hi all this is my first build thread and I hope some ppl follow along to see how it turns out . I was just going to make it a aio but changed my mind and now it’s getting a sump . It’s a 60 g breeder with 20g long sump . I’m wanting to build a lot of it my self with all left over stuff I had laying around and trying to make it as keep as I can we’re I can .

This looks really good, I had a 30 cube with a 10 sump with great success so this being twice the size will be fun! love your stand.

going to stain the wood with some Teak Oil from home depot maybe?

I 3D printed some filter baskets for it I didn’t want blue but I only had blue left. For the top I still need to put bulk heads in and silicon it down I will be post more pics on the sump soon

Soak those baskets in the sink over a 48-72 hour period with some salt water with some PH additive. See if anything sheds. The plastic paint stuff can shed and get into the water... Another reefer had shared this info with me and want to pass it on :)

+ going to post some results from Teak Oil from home depot on some wood in my shed I never stained. Its super low odor and waterproofs the wood. It also darkens the wood a shade or two. Lastly its less than $10 a bottle and I have my same bottle from years ago... only need a little with a 99 cent paint brush for good results...

did you cut the acrylic with a router? that assembly table you got there looks pretty slick. Is that a torsion box?
i made it years ago its just made out of mdf and scrap 2x4's and put 1" holes every 4 inches . i cut the acylic on my table saw with fine tooth blade and use my little diy bench top router table to cut the holes and stuff out
