Thanks! I just wish my tank was about 6 inches wider and longer so I could space things out a little more. I'll probably upgrade the tank in a couple years to something similar but a bit wider and deeper.
Just a word of advice to make sure you can reach the entire bottom of it. One of my fish decided to brute force itself through the cover yesterday. It thought the gsp was greener on the other side. In an effort to save it, I put it back in the tank hoping it would survive. It didn't...and it wasn't easy to get to it. I have decently long arms. It's a 3'x2'x2' tank and I couldn't reach the bottom middle without forceps.

That's a good point, 3x4-5' at 22-24" tall. I'm tall also and I will say though that the best thing about this tank is how easy it is to reach any place in it. Still wish I had more real estate so I'll sacrifice a little ease of access for it

Trying to learn to take better macro pics... not easy with a phone... This yellow and baby blue favia is one of my favorite pieces in this tank even though it's not sps like most of the tank... these 2 colors... especially together I think are just the coolest and maybe rarest I see in other tanks. I belive its called a yellow submarine favia. Trying to find a local branching acro or Monti that sports a similar color scheme.

My first real attempt at a quick YouTube video of the tank. Easier to upload to YouTube then I thought. Maybe this weekend I'll try to take a better video before the blue light bars turn on

Nice tank. Was looking at the 80 deep blue right? Did you make the return hole on the bottom into pressure lines?

Thanks! Yes, that's it. 80g deep blue

The original corner overflow was removed. I used the 1" drain as my primary return line and the 3/4" return is for my UV return.

Hmmm. Just realized those videos didn't upload in high quality. There must be a setting somewhere for that. Maybe I'll take a new one tomorrow and try to figure that out

Got my mixing station built and ready for a test run tomorrow and final clean with tapwater and vinegar for a couple hours. Will be framing between the cabinets and picking up countertops tomorrow... maybe painting too...hate painting... looking forward to not flooding my kitchen anymore filling up all those 5 gallon water containers every week.
Definitely my current favorite piece of equipment

Picked up the countertops and framed for them. Hopefully I'll have time to cut and installed them this weekend

I just found your thread. Following! I love your setup and you just gave me an idea for my tank. How’s the tank doing? Anything new?
Thanks for following! Yeah there's been a lot going on and haven't updated in a while. The tank is growing very well... I am fighting a hair algae outbreak right now unfortunately but everything else is good. I'll update with pics at some point this weekend or next week. I've been focusing on getting my reef lab finished up. Just painted the floor again. Just need to put walla base and door handles for the cabinets and the project will be basically done. I've been rebuilding my quarantine tank in there and added a sump and tomorrow I'm emptying my girlfriends 160 gallon in the livong room tomorrow to finally level the feet of the tank like I should have done a year ago when we moved in here. So just been crazy busy. Will have some good pics to post soon though!

Heres a couple random ones i took yesterday just to show something

Had a big birthday party last weekend so lots of stuff all over the place and things aren't picture perfect atm. That unfinished cabinet to the left of the tank is going to be a new control center since I have more gear to add. Will be removing what you see on that front tank panel and building a special top for all of in on that cabinet. Probably a December project since this month is busy and still timing up loos ends on the reef lab project.

And this is the living room reef I'll be emptying and leveling tomorrow.
Thanks for following! More pics soon.

Got my girlfriend's tank in the living room emptied and leveled over the weekend. Also added a few more rocks and fish during it.

And how it sits now

Something cool happened though. 30 hours after the leveling, last night... one or more corals started to spawn. Never seen anything like it before in a tank. These little spores were snowing around the tank for a couple hours then the lights turned off.

I wonder what coral(s) spawned. I hope it's that giant basketball sized bubble coral

Ya know I never truly measured it but it's massive and over 10 years old. That yellow tang is about 5 inches for reference. I have a plastic measuring stick somewhere at home. I'll try to measure it tomorrow.

Also sitting at work I see it's a full moon outside and last night was the blood moon. Must have something to do with the spawning.

The Reef Lab is done for the most part. Still more things to do and setup and tweak, but I'd call it finished at this point. Really makes testing and water changes and everything else easier and more fun.

Been fighting gha since December. Didn't realize it but my uv blast went bad so had no uv for a month or 2 or more before I realized it... also my optical sensor on my rollermat had fallen off the hanger and was sideways so never actuated... these issue plus general neglect helped get me here for sure.

So I've been focusing on my tank a bit more recently trying to make it nice again. Luckily the coral has been growing as fast as the algae so while it kills off the bases of some branching sps, new growth is right there with it... this has unfortunately made it so the bases are brittle and I've broken a few large colonies completely off the rocks. I've evicted 3 large bubble tip anemones to the living room tabk to make room for these fallen colonies while I try to clear the algae.

Also installed a 12g long frag tank for all the random stuff I break off every time I clean the tank. Very hard to clean around these NSA structures... especially with branching coral around. Pretty sure NSA really stands for Never Solve Algae.

I built an algae scrubber out of a plastic wedding card box and fed that off the overflow from the frag tank. Hopefully it helps. Seems to be working so far.

Nice looking frag tank!!
Thanks! Had this cool little tank for years but never did much with it. Kessil a80 seems to be plenty light for it as it's only about 9 inches of water. Long tank though so will grab a second one eventually.

Yah that light covers the tank well!!! Glad you were able to find something to use it for
