Shep's 40 Gallon LPS Reef

Finally got around to cleaning the turf scrubber and we'll have a look!

Well put it off a little too long but ordering new bulbs for my T5, I am going with 3 Blue plus, 3 coral plus and then 2 true actinic. Thoughts on the combo, any suggestions?

I personally would try to get a purple plus in there in place of one of the actinics.
So one purple plus and one actinic? RIght now I have 4 B+, 3 Coral+ and one purple plus but wanted to change it up a bit

Went with 3 blue+, 3 coral+, 1 purple+ and one actinic bulbs just to try something a little bit new.

Installed the new bulbs and the corals look good so far, no bleaching

Photos? :)

Photos? :)
I will try to get some photos up today! I started to notice a little bleaching on two of the corals so I cut back the time I have the lights on for.

Well tank is been weird these past few weeks, some corals have just randomly died off while others are growing like crazy. Lost two acropora corals but my mili has probably grown an inch or two, acans have all added new head except for the one that is just slowly shirking. Have done a few water changes and I am debating removing the sand bed. Also have a random large scale outbreak of cyano, which I have never had before -__- , parameters are all WDL but am rechecking them today.

:-( Well that's frustrating for sure. Any recent changes you can point to?

That's the weird thing, I have not added anything new to the tank in months and yet now I am having all kinds of new things creep up.

 Yep. That would be frustrating. Any changes in any parameters?

I am doing a water change today and rechecking all of them to see if anything is out of wack

Been there! Super frustrating! Do you run carbon?

...kind of lol I have a small bag of it that sits in chamber of my sump but no reactor or anything fancy like that. I should probably change it out with fresh carbon.

That's what I was thinking. Worth a shot. Sometimes there is stuff we don't test for in the water.

Very good point, I change it out when i do the water change
