The AF may be supplying the trace elements needed by the corals to color up. I have been testing a new trace element dosing system and I have found that the corals need the proper amount of trace elements to really take off. When I started this new trace element system it was quite shocking to see the growth of corals really. As before this I was seeing some growth but once the corals got the proper amount of elements in the water it was eye opening for me. Having been in the hobby since the early 80's and having tried every "method" out there this was the first that showed me positive movement in coral growth. One learns something new all the time in the hobby.

My FTS with entire system and some background as below

Some old brown coral frags and colonies perform better now. I am not sure because Af products or just about time. Maybe both!? What you guys think it is? Please share your thought.

The tank looks beautiful. Think the AF products are doing you very well in your system [emoji12]
Thanks. It had some hard time first two months when converting from full KZ to Af+KZ. I am glad I passed that period of time.

Same here. I think proper about of trace element is the key after we have good understanding of major elements. It is easy to deal with proper amount of the major three via test kit, however, trace elements test kit is not handy and observe tank performance is still the key. Good to know you find what best for you.

Apex AFS is great, very programable.....but.... hard to place it on a rimless open top tank.... Just awful....really awful....the cord, the chunky piece
Until.....my friend offer a prototype which solve my problem .... Ya!!!!
It work perfectly on top of my ATI fixture.

I love it, and my fish love it, too

Now you just need to build a cover for the whole mess.:) My wife would not be happy seeing that in HER living room.:)

Haha... My wife probably will not allow me change to a canopy like cover, which will completely block the sunlight from living room to dinning room.

I was just thinking some thing from above wrapped around the light. One tank my wife found a lamp shade she liked and I used that to hide the offending light fixture.:)

any videos on the flow in the tank with the wavs?
Sorry, no video at this moment for my new Apex Wavs, but I do have its config in Apex chart as below...

14, 18 on right side of my overflow, 14 is upper one. 15 and 17 on the left side of my overflow, 15 is upper one. No Wavs on the overflow opposite side of glass.

Yes, I use Apex Wavs to replace all my Tunze. Tunze is great and quiet, but I love the fully control and less cable achievements that Apex did.

Note that when using Apex Wav in adv mode, the noise is bigger than Tunze, but that is when lots of attention you put to listen to.

I don't have a picture handy, but here is in my laptop with a CAD file that you can see how I place them.
