That is sad. I wouldn’t be too optimistic about its chances, but if it is alive, I would be concerned about the ammonia level in that bag. If the bag is left open, I thought that pH rises quickly and the ammonia becomes more deadly. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I think I would just drop the fish immediately into the tank, whether QT or DT.Fish was shipped Friday for Saturday delivery and of course Saturday morning ups said was miss sorted. Should i be concerned about ichI am hoping it is fine. I would immediately open the bag, set it in the tank (keeping the top of bag out of the water) to temp acclimate and begin to drip acclimate. Or... empty the fish in a bucket/container and start drip acclimating it. It will be starved of oxygen.
Should i be concerned about ichEverything I have read said float to temp and get them out of the bag asap as ammonia will start to increase as soon as the bag is opened. I never drip acclimate a shipped fish unless the vendor instructs differently and I still probably wouldn't.
On a side note I never have fish shipped any later than Wednesday for Thursday so a delay only adds 24hrs normally.
Never again, im going out of town next Thursday and my 4 yr old has been asking about getting a puffer for over a month and have been looking locally and couldn't find one. Well I did find one on way to work one morning went back in afternoon and was gone looking back i should have bought it an went back to pick up. So found a place called Salty Underground that would do Saturday deliveries and here we are.Looks like it is doing fine. Cute little guy
Surprised they offered Saturday delivery. I try to ship only Monday and Tuesday in fear that something like this happens.
