Hi guys Iam new here

I ordered green hydrophora at the aquarium depot.

I just got it and when I open the package , it smells little bit stinky and it was covered with brownish algae kind of jelly.

I thought it just got injured so I out on my tank but still worry .

I don't want it ruin my other corals.. so

Just wonder sometimes it happen ? Or is it a ready dead or dying .

Of it can harm to other coral iwill just throw away now even tho it is not dead yet..

Well other coral from aquarium despot was ok

And if there r any people have used aquarium depot site before , do u think tht site is ok to order corals ?

Thank you , and sorry for long question .

I'm posting image of hydrophra now situation ..

Doesn't look good. However, I am unfamiliar with that species of coral personally. From what I see, it looks to potentially be a "brown jelly" which is basically a bacterial infection. It can spread to other euphyllia if left alone, that is, if it is brown jelly. Again, not familiar with this species specifically tho. I'd wait for a second opinion.

I haven't had any personal experience with them, however aquarium depot has a notorious reputation. They were previously known as reefs2go, you can find all kinds of stuff about them here and elsewhere if you search the name.

Yeah that is not good, contact the vendor and send an image, they'll likely give you credit or send a new piece.

That does look like a classic bacterial mass, the coral is beyond hope in my experience.

Take it out of the tank, it's toast, sorry.

I've ordered a clean up crew from them with no issues but I don't think I would order much else from them based on what I've read.

Really looks nothing to what it's suppose to resemble. I had mine get in a bad shape when I got it.I'm sure it might have been already in a rough shape when they sent it and it's travel sealed its fate feel sorry for the coral.I'm sure they will fix the issue but I rather buy from members here they have tons of coral and way cheaper and pest free for the most part,so ask around I'm sure someone has it.And welcome to the forum!! I'm sure u Will enjoy everything it has to offer and more!
