Hey guys,

I'm downsizing so I will need to move some of my bigger pieces. The thing I'm most concerned about shipping is my ~50 heads of frogspawn. It's a little smaller than a basketball so I'm worried about it coming apart in transit. Is there some trick that I could use to help it along? Best practices?

I also have some hammers and a big elegance but I'm less concerned about them since they're not branching...

Thanks!

Is there any branch (trunk like) area at the base? I'm no shipping expert, but I've had a coulpe guys show me how they take styrofoam and insert the base of the frogspawn into the styro and it kinda foats upside down. As big as your frogspawn is, this may not be easy or even a solution. Good luck with it.

A store I worked for in Sacramento would get drop shipments of huge euphyllia and other LPS dry with only wet newspaper wrapped around them. The mortality rate was probably around 5-10% though  -Any experts out there??

That's exactly what I'm doing. I have a lot of large LPS and am planning on going back to a solana and just keeping some of my favorite acros, chalice, and some smaller LPS. :)

There is a little bit of a base on it, maybe I could zip tie it to something on the other side of styro. Finding bags that big may be an issue... Any recommendations on where to look for bags?

Thanks!

I had Koi shipped to me from 14" and up and they were in livestock bags as big as a trash bag.
I think you should frag it makes more $$$ and easier to ship.

I may just do that, or I may keep the big one and sell one of my other dozen head pieces maybe. I'm going to need to sell an awful lot of stuff!

shiipng the Frogspawn

now if it were me shipping an enormous frogspawn... i would glue a piece of styrofoam to the bottom of the container with 2 or 4 zip ties already strategically placed through the styrofoamprecut a hole in the styrofoam to place the stem of the frog spawn and then when it's placed in the water add zip ties to the end of the glued down zip ties to strap the frogspawn down and then add a net hanging well above the frogspawnover the mouth of the container and add some macro alge in that to use up the yucky stuff in the water fill the container to the very overflow point and screw on the lid.should be good to go. and what are you selling and what do you want for it !!!! PM me some details
