I am on vacation and just heard about this. I am glad you and your girlfriend are safe. I feel for all the families with lost loved ones and those how have lost friends. :(

Those are very touching images Al. I totally agree with you that it is simply amazing the amount of media coverage of this event...I'm sure that it is somewhat tiring for those that are actually living and dealing with this event. Not that this event does not deserve it's due coverage, it's just a shame that there isn't more coverage on more joyful events. I guess if it wasn't for bad news to report on, there wouldn't be a whole lot to coverage. :(

tell ya'll the truth, it doesn't really hit me until they start showing news reports, and videos of people across the country doing things to show support. whether it be large gatherings of people in a vigil, or random people who never went to VT, or have ever been to blacksburg wearing the orange and maroon.

i honestly can't keep a straight face when i see stuff like that. ESSPECIALLY coming from some of our rival schools in the ACC. its just amazing, no words can describe that feeling.

i think i can speak for most hokies when i say that it doesn't really hit any of us until we see stuff like that. our pride runs very deep, and even during the memorial services and vigil you didnt see that many people upset...it was more about pride and staying strong.

I work for a public school board in Maryland and we got the memo yesterday letting us know of 'The Orange and Maroon Effect' on April 20th. Its been touching to see my workplace this morning. I just saw a board official in the hall in his business suit....and face painted maroon and orange.
