I like the closed loop one of my L1 is messing up but they are quite and it's less stuff in the tank

Yea I have a 240 gallon sitting in my garage with holes drilled for closed loop and I've been hesitant to set it up because I'm still unsure if I want to use it or not. I get that it makes it so you have less powerheads in the tank. However, isn't the plumbing in the sand an eye sore? Or do you cover it up with rock?
