Hi, the tenuis bug is biting me now. I normally like old school corals but I'm really liking Tenuis. I find homewrecker and WD kinda overrated reef bums jacks rainbow is pretty cool and I find that I like no named tenuis more.
Show me your no name and possibly their progression.

I also love old school SPS. I wasn’t a big fan of tenuis before but there’s definitely something there. I wish we didn’t have designer names but that is another topic. Tenuis in general are beautiful!

That baby blue is amazing, kinda like deep water acro type of blue, what lights are you running and do you find the need for high nutrients?
Regarding names, I hate it as well, specially since if you don't buy from the source it might be an expensive fake of a stupidly expensive coral.

This was a piece I acquired from Adam @Battlecorals as part of his blue light specials. It’s interesting, for me tenuis have done better with slightly higher nitrates and phosphates. My nitrates are typically 10 - 20 ppm. My phosphates are 0.15 - 0.20. I have ATI Stratons and Reefi Unos.

a fully colored up WD is NOT overrated, have you seen one in real life that's at its best?

dang you people are coloring up those tenuis really good

I do understand that people want to hype those corals and I haven't seen in person a WD, my LFS actually has one for 45 euros for sale that apparently is a steal, and the best WD I ever seen on the internet was here from a user with halides, yes it's amazing. But you pay a lot of money for a coral that might not color up the way you want considering how much variation there seem to be. I have seen some beautiful no named tenuis from users and I find them really good and as good as the named ones, plus what I want is the journey of getting the coral and see what happens with the color.
Look at the ones already posted here, I would take any of these before a named one, I dont need to brag a name, I want beautiful corals.

I do agree with you there are non-named tenuis that look great, and some better than "named" acros/tenuis. However, you made a statement that WD is overrated, when in fact it's one of the prettiest tenuis, let alone acros, that we have in the hobby. Big R WD is hands down one of the classics, if one is diligent and lucky enough to pull the colors out of it. It's one of my absolute favorites in my tank.

I agree that a name doesn't do much more, especially in adding a "value" but it is what it is.

The best PE I’ve gotten out of a no name Tenuis. This was many years ago under halides before Tenuis were popular. They were cheap back then, I think because it’s the LEDs nowadays that really show the colors.

That looks like the old ORA Chips acro! Not sure if it was a tenuis but that sure looks identical.

I've seen a few better colored but this one is good.

see what I mean? I mean it's a bit hard to tell from this pic (may be my monitor) but yellow polyps, green skin and pink/purple radial corallites... not overrated. Takes skill to get those BigR colors out of them.

I love "no namers". I live near AquaSD and love grabbing things there. Since you want to see progression and tenuis, here is a tenuis I bought as a "Blue Mammoth" from them for $20 or so.

Also have some other non tenuis that are from them that have a sweet progression.

I bought it as plain blue. It quickly developed purples and teal colors.
