My first two clams were recently acquired at the widely publicized Richmond Reef Club meeting. They're both ORA maximas. The pictures are top downs with just my 20k bulb on, so the colors are a little dark.

This picture is a little more true to the color, and you can get a better sense of the size:

josh, once they grab ahold of those rocks....stick them up higher in the tank since they are under 175's. i'd stick them up on the very top of your rocks......they'll LOVE it.

i'm really hating myself for not picking up this beauty! this is by far the best maxima i've ever seen. the white balance is a little off, but it had pure white streaks in the middle of the clam. i've never seen a blue and white maxima.

wait, did you pick up the blue one with the green rim? (top one in the pic). hard to tell. but there was one clam in the batch that was blue with a forest green rim......IMO that was the hottest in the bunch. i've never seen that color combo in a max either.

I will try and find a pic of my old Blue teardrop maxima I ended up killing it the same way as the vlue one. I came real close to crying over that one, the BTD was the most expensive thing I had ever bought for my addiction.....I need toget me a new clam.

Al, yeah I grabbed the one that you commented was your favorite (and I wanted to get a teal one and a dark blue one).

I've been messing with my "Digital Photo Professional" software, so I might be able to work out a better colored picture.

no, marvin wouldn't let us take the blue one with the white streaks for the raffle. instead he was selling it for $50 (still a good deal IMO). someone got it the next day (sunday) as i heard someone at the meeting telling marvin he was going to be there when the doors opened to grab that clam.

josh got the 2nd best one of the entire batch IMO.....which was a blue color with a green rimmed mantle.....never seen that color combo before.

the rest of those clams that went in the clam raffle were only about $20 ;)

of course, if they were sold in the store i think they would be around $40-$50

here is a pic of the clam josh picked up in the raffle. i just enlarged it a bit in photoshop. that green rimmed mantle is very unique IMO.
