^I agree, that garden is sweet!
Hey Charisse! what substrate did you use or are they growing on big rocks on the sand bed?

smaller mini colonies overgrown plugs and growing on the sandbed...i believe the growth slowed down bec my sunny ds and devils armor seems to stop growing.

and substrate,,,i have little sand about 1/4 inch thick...not fine sand cant remember what its called...rice grain size.

Hi, I'm really new having a reef aquarium and I'm really amaze about all the pictures you have posted.
I don't know if this is the correct part of the forum to ask this question, but how can I make mi small Zoas to start growing and make colonies like that?
Should I just put then near a rock and they will start colonizing this part of the rock.
Should I put them near or far of the light?

Many thanks any answer provided

Luis.

Thank you "LadyReefer and "got2envy" that's about a 1.5yrs of growth. The rock is pretty full and I'm going to have to start another garden but first I need to buy a bigger tank...I'm not sure how to tell my wife...lol

the aogs, everlasting gobstoppers(the bigger colony)...magicians,and a few others, they were already a mini colony when i got them,,and they just keep growing as i have not touched or fragged them..occassionally i do trim the magicians and aog's as they grow the fastest,i think i already got rid like 50+ polyps of each...other than that,,,i do not touch them.
i always buy at least 10+ polyps as they grow new polyps in each polyp..i do have frags that started like 1-2p and u can see them they are still small and in frag plugs...
the ricordeas,i did a big order of 50 rics.. about 20 melted because of tiny bugs eating rics....i did win the battle...:)
other than that just maintaining stability of tank, eventhough sometimes its hard because i dose manually....pretty much thats about it...:)

You have an amazing tank! What is it that you dose?

Zoas frustrate me to no end. No matter what I do I can NEVER get them to flourish...
ALL of my other corals grow superbly bur not Zoas they will do fine for a little while and then they will just start to vanish little by little
I run 4 bulb T5ho light setup and dose vinegar and B-ionic 2 part everyday as well as doing weekly 5 gallon water changes on my RSM130

I would like to hear more specific info on the tanks listed on lights, equipment and supplements. I am in the process of getting my 75 stable enough for more coral and I am going all softies.

Does anyone on here still use VHO??
