How are you guys holding color on the German Green Acro? I have two and they are both dirty yellow... The polyps have a neat stripe in them, but aren't blue by any stretch... I've had them under two different lighting set ups but no change...

ugh, i HATE those stupid ORA plugs....i messed up the bottom of my deepwater trying to get it off the plug. (mostly just damaged where it had encrusted over the edges, no damage to any branches or base luckily considering it landed about 5 feet away). but i imagine it will take a week or so before its picture worthy.

the only way to get them off the plug is to cut the plug with a dremel or pvc pipe cutters

one time i got lucky and cut the epoxy part with a pair of cutters, it lifted right off the plug (this was the ORA german blue polyp i believe).

i couldn't tell where the epoxy ended on the deepwater frag, and the plug began....so i got out the dremel and tried to cut it pretty close to the top.....the frag slipped in my hand and thus was launched across the room...lol

only damage was to the thin base around the edges which all cracked. no big deal though, i laid the frag down on a piece of rock so it can encrust again and have a larger base hopefully.

mounting it straight up looks dangerous....just imagine if it was 3 inches taller.....its a prime target for getting broken while cleaning the tank or doing anything that requires putting hands in the tank with a thin single branch at the base.

My German Blue Polyped Acro came in Yellow w/ blue polyps. I like it though, but wouldn't mind the green color either.

Glad it didn't get damaged. I've destroyed a few colonies this way.

Mine has gone beyond surfn's... It doesn't have the color I'd like it to have. The polyps have a purplish tinge if you think hard enough about it... I may try it in a few different places. I've got the one I got from surfn and one I got from a LFS.

I gotta get a deepwater. A LFS got two in. They look nice. He's running only VHO's, too. There is a lokani in there I'm spying, too. He said it had to encrust to his LR before he'd break the frag plug off to sell it to me... It's been a while since I got a $100 frag (well, got a 1/4" piece of a monti a few months back for about that, but it didn't make it through the night...). I may have to wait and see what Santa brings...
