Hello!
So this morning I had a shower thought about the Trident.
How does it take live tests of tank water at the time, IF the input line from the tank to the unit is anything over a foot? (since it would be taking water from the line, and not the tank.)
Just made me think how they over come this, especially when dosing a tank.

Thanks!

At the start of each test cycle, it pulls and discards a sufficient quantity of sample water to ensure that tests are run with “fresh” saltwater from the tank or sump.

I hadn't thought about that, but depending on how large the tank is, that could affect salinity over time...

This has been asked before and discussed although I can't find the thread/video for the life of me. I know this was raised though - maybe check the FAQ thread.

If I ever think about having one, I'll research it first... Right now, I don't want one, so I don't really care, it was just my immediate thought when I read:

If the trident knows how much water is used to flush prior to a new sample, it should be trivial to use a DOS to add that much new salt water to the tank.

I was thinking about adjusting the DOS that I use for AWS to account for the water used by the trident. But since it’s much less than the salt lost in my skimmate container ... seemed rather pointless.
