Shrimp question

Hi
I am thinking about getting a shrimp/goby pair for my tank but I do not yet have lighting.
Is it a requirement for the shrimp to have a light?

Nope. The shrimp/goby should do well without supplemental lighting as long as the rest of the parameters are good and the tank is well cycled.

Nope they are fine in the dark even.
