Hi guys! I want to get a shrimp for my Fluval Evo 13.5 gallon, but there are so many options out there and I think a lot of them have so I’d like to get y’alls suggestions and feedback. I’ve “narrowed” it down to either: a fire shrimp, a banded coral shrimp, a skunk cleaner shrimp, or a pair of sexy shrimp. I’ve heard a lot of different things about all of these so I was just wondering what your experiences have been with them and which you’d recommend. I currently have a firefish, 3 hermits, 2 astreas, and a nassarius snail. I also have some zoas, 1 mushroom, and some GSP. Thanks in advance!

I never see my Coral banded because it hides all day. I woulnt get one again.

Sexy shrimp are really cool with their dancing. I would get these again because they don’t hide and are small.

Others I don’t have experience with...

I've kept a skunk cleaner shrimp most of the life of the tank. I had sexy shrimp and a harlequin shrimp a few years back and loved them, but I had a heater malfunction that took out everything except my clownfish. I got another skunk and love it. I just put my first fire shrimp in the tank yesterday and it seems to be adjusting fine... as far as I can tell it's eating.

I have a fire shrimp, absolutely love him. He swims across the tank to eat straight from my hand and even gives me arm cleanings while I work! I’ve never seen one this friendly so I hope nothing bad happens to him :). 100% would recommend at least one sexy shrimp, their twerking thing is really interesting to watch. However, they don’t serve much purpose in terms of usefulness (cleaning) any detritus/algae. If you want a shrimp that actually helps you, fire is a great option with a lot of personality, if you want decorative-only shrimp, then sexys are great! I couldn’t choose, so I got both. :)
