About a 2 wks ago I purchased 2 cleaner shrimp, they’re doing fine and appear to be healthy.
But they are now starting to annoy my Crocea Clam. They will go to either end of the clam mantle, reach in and appear to be eating something. Hopefully they are not eating the clam.
The clam will not open completely while the shrimp are busy and will occasionally close up.
What d'ya think?

I don't have cleaner shrimp but my clam will close when the hermit crabs or urchin go near the mantle and then open after they are done. Like Frank said sounds like they are just cleaning. Just make sure nothing stresses the clam to the point it never opens. Funny thing is my starry blenny will lounge on the mantle like a big couch and the clam never flinches.
